Hammerwatch Discussion / Patch Notes for 1.22 (April 2014)
« on: April 16, 2014, 12:35:57 PM »
So we've been working on adding a new class and also fixing the problems people are having with firewalls and opening ports. The game will try to use Steam networking to go through firewalls when joining games through the server browser or when right clicking on a friend and selecting join game, if either the client or host are not using Steam the game will fall back to the old networking model.

Misc:
  • Added thief class
  • Changed the HUD
  • Added custom mouse cursor
  • Added click sound to buttons in the menu
  • Wizards flame spray now goes through enemies
  • Wizards ice nova no longer has a cast time
  • Wizard flame spray and meteor strike improved

Technical:
  • Now using Steam networking when possible
  • Tweaked game scale for certain resolutions
  • Enemies can now walk through each other when walking at different speeds
  • Strafing now properly netsynced
  • Fized freeze crash when failing to connect to a game

Editor features:
  • Added composite skills 'ground-hit', 'explode'

Hammerwatch Discussion / Beta Patch Notes for 1.21 (January 2014)
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:59:46 PM »
So we've been working on a patch to stabilize the game on Mac and Linux, and fix other bugs. Since this patch contains significant changes to some of our base technology we are releasing it right now as a beta version just so we can get people to try it out and make sure we don't break anything.
If you are making a level, I'd advice you to back it up just to be sure.

To enable this patch right-click Hammerwatch in your Steam library and pick properties, then go in to the Betas tab and enter the code "hmw-beta-121", this should enable the beta_1.21 from the drop down list. Just select it and verify the integrity of game cache to force Steam to download the update.

Hammerwatch Discussion / Patch Notes for 1.1
« on: September 13, 2013, 09:28:19 PM »
Features:
  • Added a new level which is a survival level. For this map you need to survive wave after wave of enemies while harvesting money from crystals and then fight a boss at the end.
  • Added two new achievements for beating the boss on the survival map on medium and hard difficulties.
  • Added a statistics screen which collects data about damage done, enemies killed, damage taken, deaths, pickups taken, distance moved, breakables destroyed and mana used.
  • Changed the ending score to use the new metrics which are collected for the statistics instead of just using the money each player has.
  • Added pickups which permanently improve the players, these only spawn in the survival map for now, but can be used in custom levels.
  • Added a new customizable AI type for people who make custom maps.
  • Added a new cave theme for the survival map which can also be used in custom maps.
  • Breakables can now drop multiple items, this is only used in the survival map for now, but can be used in custom levels.
  • Custom maps can now open the end screen.

Fixed:
  • Game over screen now fades in over time instead of immediately pops up.
  • Editor should now work better on Windows from the Steam directory.
  • Actor tower_tracking_1 no longer crashes the game when used in a custom map.
  • Damage from the warlocks lightning storm now scales properly with combo being active and damage potions.
  • Several crash fixes.
