Editor Discussion / Re: Crash when objectevent "hit" on walls

The hit trigger actually works perfectly on the less-complicated one. It changes the variable THEN reads it. I was expecting to have to delay it, but it worked well.
And yeah, it shouldn't. It should cause a misread of the variable, but not a crash.

I had not known there were player levels.
Well, I guess they would implement one based on how many upgrades you bought, but that is easy to bypass. I mean, I only buy Health, Shield, and Sword Arc/Damage, along with Holy Storm and Combo Nova.

I'm trying to get a non-cracked wall to be hit with a sword, and when it's hit 10 times, it gets deleted, and a cracked wall underneath becomes shown, where that one is hit a few times and finally breaks.

I'm using a set of scripting that's cleaner than the one used in the campaign.

There's also layer changes so it changes the layer to the same as the player.

Here's another that works the same way as previous, but visually is the same as the version in the main campaign.

And this one works perfectly, exactly the same as the one in the campaign.

Hammerwatch Discussion / Hammerwatch IRC?
« on: July 04, 2014, 07:04:16 PM »
I've set up an IRC Server for us, #Hammerwatch on irc.esper.net.
I thought it would have been a great place for people to get quick help or just general discussions.
See you there! Maybe!

Edit:
As requested, I made a Direct Link to the IRC Channel so you don't have to figure out what the heck an IRC is and actually have to download an IRC client. :)
Until I can get a Direct Link to a better IRC Client (like on Esper.net), Crappy Mibbit's taking its place.
And for those who already have an IRC client but is too lazy to connect manually, put irc://irc.esper.net/#hammerwatch into your address bar, so your IRC Client will automatically use it. (Tested on Chatzilla. Any others want to confirm that this will work?)

I like the idea of having the price go down per-second. Additionally, for those who are a bit impatient, maybe make it tick more than 1 gold per second while you're lower level, and have it scale as you level up. i.e. 1 per second at level 5, 1 per 2 seconds at level 10, etc.
They'd have to do it by acts, not levels. I'm always odd when I do levels in Act 2. I always head up to level 5, then go to 4 afterward.

Played the game just once so far (not that far in yet), and I also got all 4 prizes.
I thought the comment was about not getting the "good prize" in all 4 spots. :)
The bottom level prize (bottom of the puzzle) is always a potion. The second level (the left) is always an ankh. The third level (the right) is always a low-level stat increase (+5%. Correct me if I'm wrong.), and is gray. I'm not sure about the top, but from what I've seen so far, It's always a red chest that yields a red stat upgrade (I'm not sure the stat increase), an Ankh, and a Vendor Coin.

Edit: Found this when looking in the past boards. ^.^ http://hammerwatch.com/forum/index.php?topic=1987.0
Perhaps you COULD add a Red Vendor Coin? Twice as good as the Gold?

Technical Support / Re: Game plays sound, but no video or window

Verify the game cache, reinstall Hammerwatch (seriously, it's a small download). COMPLETELY uninstall your driver then reinstall it. Uninstall all components that is required to run hammerwatch then reinstall.

This will actually make it easier to test! :D Could we have a /floor, and a /damage function? They seem pretty self explanatory, but /floor changes your floor, and /damage changes your damage.

Yeah, that maths seems about right. I'm very rusty in my math, since they did a "quick session" over probability and left us to learn for ourselves.
Thanks for all the maths, it helps much. :)

I have already done it with Photoshop CS6, and it shows perfectly in-game. The most tricky part was changing the tiles' location in the image, and their width (this can be done by editing the .xml files).
For future use, though. :)

I am now trying to translate the minimap icons... I edited them in Paint but it messed up the transparency so now I'm redoing it in Photoshop.
Use Paint.net. Just as simple as MS Paint, but with greater tools such as transparency. Microsoft needs to step up their game. They're late by about 15 years in multiple areas. :)

Nice questions. I'd like to have a tutorial to know how to upload my work to the workshop. I've never done any workshop pieces, and the workshop guide on steam sends me to the map-makers subforum.

I would love to have a larger community, I hope the workshop can do a little there =)
Same. I'd like to meet some new friends here. It appears that people come, and people go, yet very very few people actually stay (From what I've seen on the forum activity). I'm thinking that the Workshop will make it easier for people to be able to get copies for friends and play some custom multi-player campaigns.

Hammerwatch Discussion / Re: All Achievments! Finally!

Cmon! Go legit! :D The only achievement I would ever farm is the 1000 combo one. Seriously, is that even possible without farming?

"Passive 2: The curse of the dagger of the Flutist earns bonus damage every enemy who dies because of it" Meaning, For more kills (The dagger is the main weapon), the more damage. Lets say you start out with a base of 1. And you're soloing the game. You play the game normally. By the end of the game, you can now do over 10000 damage. That's probably killing the dragon in making one shot and a tiny bit more.
