Performance and Sound Issues on (K)Ubuntu 13.10

Hello.

I usually play on my Windows PC but tried it on my Laptop with Ubuntu today. When I run the game with lightning effects on, it is lagging very much - input to screen reaction as a delay of half a second. Also the sound is stuttering. I already set it to lowest settings so its actually playable, but the sound is still not enjoyable.

Anyone experienced the same on Ubuntu or any other Linux OS?

This is most probably ubuntu's fault. I had this issue before, when i used Ubuntu 13.10, and i had that weird delay, and lag, but then i installed new proprietary graphics drivers, which increased the fps like 20 frames, but it still wasn't good enough. Then i used Ubuntu 12.10 LTS, and i can play games like i did in windows, so try installing new proprietary graphics drivers, or downgrade to 12.10. To get these drivers, search "Additional Drivers" on the software centre.
