Tilesets disappearing

Hey there, bringing another issue to the table here!

Sometimes when I add a new tilemap and place it in the editor, all other tilemaps disappear from the viewing window. When I scroll in and out it zooms DRAMATICALLY up and down - way more than usual, and only displays one tilemap at a time (etiher the old ones or the new one when the new one is the only one on the screen).

I know this is probably something I'm doing wrong, but I haven't done anything differently with this one than the others that I know of. is there some kind of method I should use to make sure my tilemaps are .. compatible?

are the doodads turning white? i have noticed an issue when reloading and adding new tilemaps and resources that cause tiles to stop displaying properly.. i think it is a memory problem.

When the doodads and such go grey/white I know that i'm 'running out of memory' soon, but what I'm talking about is everything disappearing entirely on the view window except for tilemaps, and then only one tilemap or another (when they're both on the same screen it shows only one, when I move the screen to where there is only the other one it shows up)
