Sound Effects - Mysterious "Thud"

I'm implementing the sound effects for my ravens, and I have a simple "Caw" for when they die. The .wav is a clean and clear "caw" but when they die in-game there is a 'thud' at the end of each death sound. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I should go about troubleshooting it?
Here is the .wav so you can hear there is no thud:

What happens when you try another sound?

Well it was only that one sound that did it. What I did was modified the .wav to have more silence at the end so that the soundbite itself was a bit longer - and that thud disappeared. Strange!
