Auto-fire Mod
« on: September 06, 2013, 04:40:16 AM »
If you would like for your cute little Hammerwatch avatar to attack as quickly as possible without crippling your hands via carpal tunnel or some other repetitive strain injury, then this is the mod for you!

How to install:
1. Download the file from https://www.dropbox.com/s/vwq42vmyn68vauo/Hammerwatch.zip
2. Scan the file with your preferred anti-malware software to make sure I'm not trying to add your computer to my botnet
4. Navigate to your Hammerwatch installation directory/folder and back up (or just rename) Hammerwatch.exe
3. Extract/Unzip the file to your Hammerwatch installation directory/folder
7. Season to taste and enjoy  ;)

If you press "up" in regular intervals you can shoot as fast as possible without spamming.
And if you shoot automatically, how should you slowly walk forward and shoot at the same time?
If you need that, use it, but I can't play with such a "mod" or "makro" thingy.

I associate it as a cheat :/
Because the player don't use his own clicking skills :)

Yeah, I assume the 'clicking skills' thing is why Hammerwatch doesn't feature auto-fire to begin with. I just had a hard time enjoying the game without it. Honestly I think including auto-fire as one of the crutches would be the best compromise between our two opinions.

I don't think auto-fire being a cheat is the problem, its just that it is kind of unnecessary and really an insignificant thing for this game, at least that's how I feel about it.

Auto-fire is really unnecessary and kills the feel of the game. But that's just me.

Did you try it?
If you did you will probably not repeat that again :)
Or maybe i just play toooo long.

Oh, and the sound of non-stop hitting/clicking buttons is kinda annoying, especially when playing with 3 friends with Mumble enabled :)
So i praise this mod, and would really like to see them in the crutches list.

Why would this ruin the game? Some people's wrists hurt from pressing A so much...

you don't have to always attack at max speed to kill monsters you know... its an unfair advantage

If it were an unfair advantage they would lower that class's maximum attack speed. I attack at maximum speed all the time, is my skill an unfair advantage? I still manage to die quite a bit.

I think the game is hard enough even with it :P Also, its optional. I plan on a very hard difficulty for my campaign!
